"Sarah, if the people had ever known the truth about what we Bushes have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched."-- Bush 41 to reporter Sarah McClendon, Dec. 1992 It's an amazing thing. Doctors' offices in New York and Washington will likely be standing-room-only in a couple of months. I can see it now -- the look on a nurse's face when she asks the vacuous, target-eyed media twits when they are "due," and each one chirps happily, "May 25th!" As she comes to the end of the line, the nurse notices a slender, auburn-haired woman fast asleep, her lips slightly open in a half-smile. She is snoring gently.Hesitating to awaken her, the nurse spies a blonde whom she recognizes as CNN's "White House" correspondent, Dana Bash, "What about her?" the nurse asks Bash, pointing to the woman. "Is she due on May 25th too?"Bash leans forward and stares at the sleeping woman so intently that she loses her balance and falls, sprawling on the floor. Then, with eyelids blinking rapidly in recognition, Bash scrambles to her feet, grabs the nurse's arm and whispers fearfully, "No -- no need to wake her up -- puh-leeze don't wake her up! That's Maureen Dowd from the New York Times. She wasn't invited to the barbeque..."The "barbeque" on Thursday, Aug. 25, was the annual Lewinsky-style blowout George Bush gives for the humping, groveling media during his vacation each year -- an off-the-record affair wherein the Prince becomes "Pauper for a day" and exposes himself to the hoi polloi of the Fourth Estate.Except Bush called it off last year, so it's really not an annual party. And the fried fish, potato salad and chocolate-chip cookies don't really qualify as a barbeque either. Some are saying it was a pool party, but nobody went swimming...So, what is it? It's a super-duper double-secret reaffirmation by media stage-door Johnnys that Bush is the President, the Dear Leader, the commander-in-chief, the stud-muffin in control, and they're willing to crawl on their bellies across the fire-ant hills and weed-tangled Texas prairie to get access to him. Like the Washington Post's Dan Froomkin pointed out Friday in his "White House Briefing," the media are so eager to be near Bush they'll agree to anything, "pretty much no matter what the conditions."Bush's conditions should have brought all self-respecting journalists to a screeching halt up against the ethical wall. But no. To prove their allegience to Bush, reporters and photographers piled into vans and sped past Camp Casey, a site on the road leading to the ranch named after Casey Sheehan, a 24-year-old soldier slain in Iraq in April 2004. Casey's mother, Cindy, came to the Crawford ranch on Aug. 6, intent on getting Bush to explain the "noble cause" for which he keeps insisting Americans must die. It was important to Bush, who strikes out in destructive vindictiveness any time he is challenged or questioned, for the media to give Sheehan the back of their hands -- or at least their middle fingers -- as they left her in a wave of blowing dirt.Froomkin reports that several reporters were "squeamish" about even attending the event, and especially about having to drive by the Sheehan camp. "And later," Froomkin said, "a small handful watched askance as the rest fawned over Bush, following him around in packs every time he moved."Froomkin's shamefaced apology for the one or two, or however many of his counterparts it takes to fill up a small hand, who were uneasy about signing on to conditions demanded by the world's most insensitive and callous egomaniacial murderer, leaves reality-based folks scratching their heads. What were these few doing there in the first place? In the name of all that is ethical and professional in journalism -- what in the hell were any of them doing there in the first place?Maybe it's me, but if sitting around a swimming pool at a barbeque where no barbeque is served while the world, ignited by lies, explodes in flames -- if having access to the man who told the lies -- does not make a card-carrying journalist at least a bit curious about something other than sports, what the twins are up to, or his summer reading list -- is reality, then I cannot get a grip on it. I cannot get a grip on the reality of reporters flocking to also attend off-the-record August dinners with the treasonous Karl Rove. Is there anything in the world of reality more totally incomprehensible, raging mad -- desperately absurd?Unfortunately, yes. Ron Suskind, the former Wall Street Journal senior national-affairs reporter, and author of "The Price of Loyalty: George W. Bush, the White House and the Education of Paul O'Neill," penned a critical in-depth piece for the Oct. 17, 2004 New York Times Magazine, on the nuances of Bush's inability to recognize reality. Bush proudly admits he doesn't "do nuance," nor does he bother to read newspapers or watch TV, so the fate of the world rests on his uninformed, faith-based gut instinct. By his own admission, Bush just catapaults the propaganda around until some of it sticks, which then becomes reality.A "senior adviser" to Bush explained to Suskind in the summer of 2002 that we no longer live in a reality-based community. "That's not the way the world really works anymore," the adviser said. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."Now, I'm not saying this "senior adviser" is Dick Cheney, but I have studied the cadence of Cheney's remarks and his pet phrases -- as you will -- for years. Not that it matters, but I suspect history will sort out that whoever was spouting this insane ideology was -- as a minimum, if you will -- "channeling" the arrogant veep. It's not that Bush doesn't want to face the reality of why Casey Sheehan and 1,900 others like him had to die. After sailing through five years and two stolen elections without having his feet held to the fire; after having lie after destructive lie creating domestic and foreign chaos cheered on by captive audiences, Bush isn't about to be called on the carpet by some mama just because her kid got killed in his war on terror, or regime change, or handing out God's gift of freedom, or spreading democracy, or liberation, or -- whatever. Sheehan may have him on the run, but he's the leader of what's left of the free world, and he doesn't owe anybody an explanation.Reality? As they say down in Texas, Bush just doesn't give a rat's ass. And, from its collective shoddy performance, neither does the mainstream US media. Unfortunately, for the whole treasonous bunch, America's mothers are awake and they're on the move. Not just those whose sons and daughters were horribly slain for no good reason, but those who realize their children are still alive and are in peril, are being murdered at a clip of three a day, with no hope of survival and no way out. They realize that the game Bush is playing with their children is Iraqi Roulette. And, sooner or later...Bush and his media enablers are hoping the end of August will put Cindy Sheehan and Camp Casey in their rear-view mirrors. According to Fox Channel news director Brit Hume, everything will be all right if Bush can come up with some good news. "What the president needs is some improved results," Hume informed the panel on Fox News Sunday last week, "...or at least some perceived improved results."Fellow panelist Fred Barnes agreed. "Cindy Sheehan's a crackpot," Barnes snorted, and then giggled, slapping his hands together and then rapidly beating them on the table while bouncing up and down in his chair -- "A crackpot! She's not even a good mascot for the Democratic Party! She's nothing but a crackpot!"Bush and the entire right-wing apparatus are flailing around in "frantic defense" mode. They can't get it through their heads that this isn't about politics. Mothers like Cindy Sheehan are not anti-war, they're just anti-illegal genocidal war. Their cause is pro-peace, and it's a noble cause. The mothers are coming, spreading out across the nation in a "Bring Them Home Now" bus tour, and they are joined by military and Gold Star families, veterans of the Iraq war and veterans of previous wars. They are coming to save their children because no one -- not the president, not the administration, no member of Congress, nor any corporate media -- has the courage to stand up and do what's right. Now. Today. Before three more are killed...and three more...I think I'll meander on over to Tom Delay's place. I hear there's gonna be a hell of a Reality Show and a great barbeque over there next week.I may even invite Maureen Dowd...Sheila Samples is an Oklahoma writer and a former civilian US Army Public Information Officer. Bush's Response To Horrific Disaster: Indifference.

How Will You Respond To Bush? by Michael in New York - 8/30/2005 05:36:00 PM
We've got a lot of good arguments posted here from John and Rob and Joe and Chris. Use them, add your own and start writing letters to the editor of your local newspapers, tv stations and radio outlets -- not to mention your elected representatives.-- President Bush staying on vacation when EVERYONE knew a massive hurricane was getting ready to strike-- President Bush flogging politics AFTER the hurricane destroyed New Orleans and Biloxi; the President joshing with McCain over birthday cake while the waters were rising-- President Bush's father sending 25,000 troops after Hurricane Andrew. Either his dad was WASTING time and money or W is falling far short of his father. Again.-- President Bush pushing a joke of an energy bill that did NOTHING to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, nothing significant to develop alternative fuels and nothing to strengthen our infrastructure. Now we can see how vulnerable it is since one storm is impacting our nation's ability to refine oil.-- President Bush going back to Texas for another night of vacation instead of going straight to the White House AFTER the disaster struck.--President Bush jamming on the guitar while the disaster worsens.-- President Bush finally, grudgingly ending his vacation two days early and going back to DC. If he can stay in touch in Texas, why go back, as John says? If he needs to be back in DC, what the hell took so long?-- President Bush's backdoor draft that abused the compact between the country and the brave men and women who volunteered for the National Guard and Army Reserve has damaged them for decades to come. Many fewer people leaving the Army are going to volunteer for these groups in the future. And this natural disaster reminds us all of how vital they are.-- Widespread looting that one observer said made New Orleans look like downtown Baghdad. How many times can Bush turn a bad situation into a disaster before people start catching on?-- The Coast Guard is saving lives left and right. They are perennially underfunded but President Bush has given the Coast Guard massive new responsibilities to guard our coasts, inspect ships and more all while helping in emergencies like this. So in a post 9-11 world, his attempt to DELAY for DECADES the essential upgrading of the Coast Guard's ships that date to the Vietnam and Korean war is offensive and inexcusable. How would you like to watch your grandmother clinging for her life and find out the boat struggling to get to her is decrepit and unfit? That's what Bush is doing to the Coast Guard.-- Every time Bush praises the Coast Guard and National Guard and Army Reserves for behaving heroically during this disaster, he insults our intelligence. Bush has delayed providing decent equipment to the Coast Guard even AFTER 9-11. Bush has abused the National Guard and Reserve and likely crippled them for decades to come by turning them into de facto regular army troops when their real purpose is to defend this country AT HOME and come to the rescue during disasters like this. And Bush has repeatedly underfunded and undermined these essential groups again and again and again.I've looked through 10-20 newspaper websites from the US and overseas and naturally all of them are dealing with the unfolding disaster. But what will the Day 2 (or Day 3) story be? When will they stop blandly reporting the President talked about the hurricane while dawdling in California? When will they stop politely reporting the President is cutting his record-breaking five week vacation short and heading back to DC? When will they start asking why it took Bush so long to pay attention to a disaster everyone could see coming -- even AFTER it struck? You need to WRITE YOUR LOCAL NEWSPAPERS AND TV STATIONS AND RADIO STATIONS. Simple, common sense questions (Why did the President go to California to push some political agenda when the worst natural disaster in our nation's history had already struck?); anger; comparing Bush's inability to see disaster here to his inability to see disaster in Iraq -- it's all important and needs to be expressed sensitively and smartly, all while keeping in mind that people are dying. But that's just it -- people are dying and Bush is falling short. It would be wrong NOT to comment on that. Fill their inboxes with these ideas. They won't all get printed but they will inspire story ideas, editorials and maybe give the MSM a little backbone to ask some tough questions. And no, we are not politicizing a terrible disaster. BUSH played politics with this disaster by leaving our country woefully unprepared thanks to his unnecessary war in Iraq.BUSH played politics by dawdling in Texas when this massive storm was brewing, just like he dawdles in DC while Iraq sinks further into despair.BUSH played politics by going to California to flog some attack on Medicare and lie again by pretending Iraq and 9-11 are linked all when the waters were rising, looting was spreading and people were dying. And BUSH will be playing politics when he gets offended after people finally ask the obvious question: What the hell took him so long? How can anyone look at the image of Bush goofily strumming a guitar while the waters are rising and people are dying and not get angry? So make a donation to the Red Cross and then start writing those letters.

If Dobson was a true Christian he'd be spending his time on more important topics like feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and housing the homeless. Jesus didn't speak one single word about homosexuality, but he did talk a lot about helping the less fortunate. Instead this organization is the updated version of the Ku Klux Klan. James Dobson is the Grand Wizard. They just traded in the hoods and sheets for business suits. Articles like the one on FOTF site regarding PREVENTING HOMOSEXUALITY is partially responsible for incidents like this: A father beat his 3 yo to death - fearing he might be gay. What kind of insanity is this? Why is Dobson so into homosexuality? Maybe that's the real question. My guess is he needs a night of unabashed gay sex so he can get this out of his system. I only hope who ever he has it with...stabs him to death afterwards for ours is the "just" cause. LOL I mean that was a nutty sentence - but in reality that is no different then what he and his group espouses. They would love nothing more then the extermination of all homosexuals. They are terrorists - and the homosexual community is their target. We've been fatwaed !!!!!!!

The Real Threat while Bush rides his bicycle!!!!

The Russian and Chinese armed forces have begun their first joint military exercises.
Marines will storm beaches and paratroopers will descend in a mock invasion of an imaginary country.
The eight-day operation got underway with consultations between military delegations from the two countries in Vladivostok, in Russia's far east.
Analysts say China and Russia are signalling they are prepared to counter US dominance in international affairs.
The Russian and Chinese military exercises starting this week are clearly a significant step for both countries.
Even in purely military terms, they appear ambitious.
They also add some substance to the political rhetoric that is now emerging from these two formerly uneasy and even hostile neighbours of a new strategic partnership.
And they underscore a common view of the desirability of a multipolar world in which there is some counterweight to US power.
Still, officially, the scenario for these exercises - aid to an imaginary state suffering political violence - is not aimed against any specific country.
China's military has been modernising rapidly. And, while the Washington regularly sounds alarm bells about China's growing military strength and says it will be keeping an eye on events, it also insists it is not particularly worried.
The Taiwanese, too, will be watching these exercises closely, although they are being held at some distance from Taiwan itself, and there is no appetite in Russia to be sucked into the island's argument with China.
There are specific practical benefits for both participants in these manoeuvres.
For the Russians, they are a showcase for possible further arms sales to Beijing.
For the Chinese, they're a chance to participate in the kind of complicated operations that are an increasing priority for them.
But there are clear limits to all of this.
These manoeuvres will not significantly alter the regional military balance.
And both Moscow and Beijing remain wary of each other.
For Moscow there must be questions over China's long-term strategic goals, and for Beijing continuing doubts about Russia's reliability as an ally.
And, in the long run, this hardly looks like a stable relationship.
Russia approaches it from the perspective of a former and declining great power.
And while China is a country whose ambitions for the moment outstrip its actual power, that may not be the case for too much longer.

How many Bush admin officials does it take to change a lightbulb????

How many Bush administration officials does it take to change a lightbulb? 1. One to deny that a light bulb needs to be changed; 2. One to attack the patriotism of anyone who says the light bulb needsto be changed; 3. One to blame Clinton for burning out the light bulb; 4. One to arrange the invasion of a country rumored to have a secretstockpile of light bulbs; 5. One to give a billion dollar no-bid contract to Halliburton for thenew light bulb; 6. One to arrange a photograph of Bush, dressed as a janitor, standing on a step ladder under the banner: Light Bulb Change Accomplished; 7. One administration insider to resign and write a book documentingin detail how Bush was literally in the dark; 8. One to viciously smear #7; 9. One surrogate to campaign on TV and at rallies on how George Bush has had a strong light-bulb-changing policy all along; 10. And finally one to confuse Americans about the difference between screwing a light bulb and screwing the country.

Great Post I found on AOL from SNo4425877 !!!!!

I was raised in a Republican home and went to church every Sunday. Yet, during my lifetime, it has become very clear to me that all the Republicans I know, care more about profit than people. It's also clear that any parent who doesn't care enough to get the facts about why their child was killed----doesn't really love that child and would rather blindly follow a leader who brings them profit or better yet, a proud sense of false patriotism.
The reason we were attacked on 9-11 according to Bin Laden---is because we invaded Beirut two decades ago in an effort to protect oil interests in Kuwait. Bin Laden didn't like the fact that America killed many of his friends and family and thus vowed to avenge their death. That happened on 9-11. Yet, instead of capturing Bin Laden and holding him accountable, we did the very same thing again in the Middle east----invaded a country to get control of the world's richest oil supply. Casey died for oil. Casey died because a Republican president, worse than Nixon, lied to us. When Bush forced the inspectors to leave and rushed our soldiers into Iraq---all the democrats were screaming NO. They had voted to go to war as a "last resort"---not as a first choice. But it was too late. Bush hoodwinked them and the United Nations. We threw a stone in a hornet's nest called Iraq and now thousands more in the Muslim world want to kill us at any cost. Iraq was a huge blunder by these greedy, lying Republicans who only care about profit. All their foreign and domestic policies only help the top 1 percent of the American people. Everyone else will eventually go to the dogs. Liberals predicted before the invasion of iraq that gas prices would soar as a result of the invasion. I thought they were stupid at the time. How could it hurt gas prices if our country gets control of all that oil? Now I know. Republicans own it and they will make us pay triple to use it. And so much for Bush's promise that the oil would pay for the war. What a huge lie. Bush has stolen from iraq and from the American people. And when all is said and done in Iraq----their constitution will mimick their Koran Bible or Muslim religion---which means nothing would have changed for those people. And can we just remind people we invaded that country to find weapons of mass destruction---not spread freedom. That's something that all the Bush people would like us to forget.
When all is said and done in Iraq, their president will be just another regime leader just like Saddam. When all is said and done, thousands will be dead and we will still be the most hated country in all the world. Meanwhile, thousands join with osama in an effort to send a nuclear bomb to our country. Bush and his Republican colleagues should be tried for treason. Sheehan should be given a medal of honor----not Tenet---the CIA guy who helped Bush achieve this fiasco. I just pray at the next election, not a single Republican wins and every single Democrat is victorious. That's our only hope. We need to let the world know we are not crazy bullies like Pat Robertson. I really want peace because I hate mushroom clouds. And the only way we will ever have peace is to get outta the oil business once and for all. Stop electing the Republican party which is nothing but about oil. It's their bread and butter and they won't let anything change that---they will continue to put profit over people. And they are the worst threat to democracy and the American way of life. Amen.

Evolution is going backwards now, and it is because there is no Intelligent Designer who is just and all-knowing. If there were, George Bush would still be working his way through "MY PET GOAT" instead of taking our country to ruin in the name of God.

HOMOPHOBIA !!! Author Unknown

Homophobia: I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman.I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights. We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time. I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room. I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me. I am one of the lucky ones, I guess. I survived the attack that left me in a coma for three weeks, and in another year I will probably be able to walk again. I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear. We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men. I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me. I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman. I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman. I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male. I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men. I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that. I am the man who died when the paramedics stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual. I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn't have to always deal with society hating me. I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don't believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind. I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love.

The Dueling Left & Right
Righty: Well, I am so grateful to God that He put Bush in the White House instead of Al Gore! Can you imagine what would have happened to us when 9/11 hit had Gore been in office? Lefty: Yeah, I can imagine! There wouldn’t have been a 9/11 if Al Gore was there instead of the guy who lost. There wouldn’t have been a war either! Al wouldn’t have ordered the CIA and FBI to quit investigating the Bin Ladens because of personal business connections with the Saudis. He wouldn’t have let our guard down like Bush did and have us fly blind right straight into 9/11. Righty: Oh, don’t give me that! It was because Bill Clinton didn’t go after Al Qaeda after the first World Trade Center attack in 1993 that Bush had to go after him now. Did you notice no one was caught and convicted for the first WTC attack? Lefty: That’s a lie and you know it. Did you notice Osama bin Laden hasn’t been caught over 2 years after 9/11? The people that attacked the WTC in 1993 are convicted and behind bars. You must have gotten that lie from right-wing radio — which turns everything around. They lie right through their teeth and smile doing it. Righty: If Clinton wouldn’t have been playing around with the chicks, none of this would have ever happened — the recession, 9/11, ENRON, WorldCom, energy crisis, states going bankrupt, the unemployed, forest fires, the deficit, shark attacks, the world hating us.... Lefty: So, what you’re saying — Clinton is the blame for everything? And Republicans never get any on the side? Yeah, right. Look what happened to Newt Gingrich and whole lot more Republican pals! Give `em credit: At least they don't require a prescription for Viagra! Righty: Oh, and don't leave out Hillary TOO. Let’s not forget that b—ch! Well, God allowed all these bad things to happen for a purpose: to punish America for putting Clinton in office, that’s all. Bill and Hillary -- the Bonnie & Clyde clowns -- wanted to make the USA into a socialist, communist state. So, God let all those bad things happen to us. Lefty: You’re joking me, right? What planet did you fly off of? You mean a thriving economy, peace, and prosperity and people making decent wages are BAD? Righty: No, what I’m saying — all the good things that happened during Clinton’s 8 years were because of Republican policies before he was on the scene. And all the bad things happening now are because of Clinton. There’s sort of a time-lapse, you know.... Lefty: No, I don’t know. And neither do economists or anybody else with sense, for that matter. I do know that if policies favor the working class and poor, then the economy goes up because ordinary folk have money to spend. But when money is taken away from them — as in Bush’s plan to steal over-time pay from from millions of workers — then the economy goes down. It’s that simple. Pad the pockets of the rich, and the rich hoard it. Take care of the whole population, and the economy booms. Why is that so hard for Bush and his rich buddies to understand? Righty: No. Trickle-down is what works. When rich people have money, they invest it in stocks and buy luxury items — like yachts and diamonds — so that poor people will work to produce yachts and diamonds. Supply-side is the way to go. Lefty: You mean that America will get rich because most of the people will turn into servants and butlers for the rich? And enlist as poor soldier boys to fight their wars? Righty: Sort of like that, except they’ll work in Mercedes factories and for country clubs. Free markets, you know.... Lefty: And most of the taxdollars will also come from the middle class because of Bush, because his rich friends will get off the hook. Giving huge tax cuts to the rich and pushing the national debt to the sky is your idea of a booming economy? Making sure jobs are shipped overseas and corporate headquarters moved offshore to evade taxes are choices Bush’s friends make. Is that your idea of “growing the economy”? Are they PATRIOTIC or just PATHETIC? Righty: Well, the rich deserve what they got because they worked hard for it and used their brains instead of living off welfare like you lazy liberals. I’d rather keep my money instead of giving it to the government to spend on welfare queens. Lefty: That’s another lie by the right. Most “welfare” goes to corporations. Most spending goes to big-ticket items contracted out to the defense industry and corporations that happen to contribute to the Republican Party. Like Halliburton and Bechtel. Where do you think most of the money is going in Iraq? The Iraqis? Righty: Tax and spend Democrats are what’s the problem with this country. Democrats never saw a tax increase they didn’t like. Lefty: Where’d you hear that? Righty: Oh, I think I heard that from Rush Limbaugh the other day.... or was it Bush at a fundraiser? Lefty: You mean the drug addict who got off the hook because of big bucks and crooked cronies? Righty: You are so mean! We should be praying for Rush & Bush instead of bashing them. Lefty: That means we should be praying for every person with substance abuse problems.... Righty: No, I’m not saying that. Most of them should be locked up with the key thrown away.... Lefty: Let me get this straight.... So, how do we know whether to pray for someone or just put them away for life? What’s the difference? Righty: Rush Limbaugh and people like him are god-fearing and patriotic. But the rest are nothing but trash to be carried away and dumped somewhere.... Lefty: Oh, I get it! Right-wingers are GOOD and PATRIOTIC. All others are EVIL and UN-AMERICAN, right? Righty: Well, if you put it that way.... Lefty: And what about all those right-wing televangelists and preachers who either got caught with their pants down or snorting coke or something....? Righty: But, Clinton did it right there in the Oval Office! Disgusting. No wonder our country is in trouble.... Lefty: But, what about Bush? He pulled an insider-trading scheme and cheated stockholders out of $15 million. Compare that with Martha Stewart’s $12,000. Drop in the bucket. She only was targeted because #1 — she’s Democrat, and #2 — she’s female. All Bush’s buddies, include Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling, get off the hook — while anyone not in Bush’s camp gets clobbered. Righty: Now, Bush is a man of God. He prays everyday, attends Bible studies, and was born-again a few years ago. He may not be all that PERFECT, but at least he’s FORGIVEN. Not like you liberal Democrats. He’s got courage. He’s brave. And he’s the best president we ever had. Lefty: You’re sick, you know that? Actions speak louder than words, and Bush is no man of God. The Bible says, “You shall know them by their fruits.” And Bush has produced nothing but wars, misery, death and destruction all over the world. Everything he touches turns to s—t. I suppose you’ve never looked into Bush’s affiliation with the PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CENTURY, have you? Righty: No, what’s that? Lefty: It was a group formed in 1997 to plan the war against Iraq and to plan to make the U.S. a world empire into the 21st century. Most of the charter members are now on staff in Bush’s White House, and they are the ones who pushed us into war against Iraq instead of finishing the job against Al Qaeda. Righty: Oh, that’s all liberal lies! You people would do anything and say anything to get at Bush, wouldn’t you? Lefty: No, It’s all true. Look it up. Bush and his friends fabricated every bit of the “intelligence” to convince Americans to go to war. Problem is, America is now in greater danger because Al Qaeda wasn’t eliminated and the U.S. has not determined to have a balanced foreign policy in the Middle East — which is the breeding ground for terrorism. Our best defense is BALANCE, but Bush will have no part of it because it doesn’t cater to his corporate pals who want to exploit resources and the working poor all over the world for their bottom-line. They aren’t patriotic in the least, but they sure put on a show for FOX and right-wing radio so they can dupe more people. Righty: Oh, I’ve had about enough of your garbage, you traitor! Instead of seeing the good our president has done in protecting us, you bring out nothing but bad.... Lefty: Well, sorry to say, it is mostly BAD what he’s done — not only to our country, but the whole world. He’s the stooly of corporate interests, not the servant of the American public. He cares more for the bottom-line of crony corporations who are destroying this country than he does for the bottom-line of 90% of Americans who are the foundation. Righty: Oh, you have it all wrong. Pat Robertson said that God told him Bush would win by a landslide this year. And I believe God is on Bush’s side no matter what you say. Lefty: Just go ahead and believe that hogwash. If Bush wins, America loses. If Bush wins, tell your young friends to get ready for the DRAFT. Tell them to get ready to DIE. If Bush wins, you’d better sell your stocks and prepare a whole lot better than you did for Y2K. Because the s—t’s going to hit the fan like never before. You say that “God” is behind Bush? I don’t believe that for a moment! And neither does the rest of the world. I’m sorry for only one thing, Righty, that you’re so brainwashed, you’ll never be able to see the truth. So, take care, and God HELP America! Righty: God bless America! We’re God’s chosen and the rest of the world are losers. Why don’t you pack up and move to another country if you don’t agree with Bush and what he’s doing? Lefty: Thought about it.... but, no, I won’t give up my country because of an incompetent hypocrite sitting in the White House. Don’t forget to pick up your Y2K supplies, and make sure they’re made in the USA so you can claim patriotism! Good luck with Führer Bush! Zeig Heil!

You poor George Bush supporters. You have to pretend it wasn't a big deal to out a CIA agent. You have to pretend George Bush never mislead the Country. You have to pretend George Bush never made a mistake by invading Iraq. You have to pretend the cost of that mistake will never be too high and that it is worth every American who is killed. You have to pretend it's worth every American who is wounded. You have to pretend that the hundreds of billions of dollars being spent on Iraq instead of right here on America is worth every penny. You have to ignore that Bush's war with Iraq was not only avoidable but was a BIG mistake and never should have happened in the first place. It sure is so much easier to not support George Bush and feel the freedom that can only come from being honest with the truth. We are free to admit there are such things as Global Warming and the potential untold benefits that can come from Stem Cell Research -- and that protecting our environment can be more important than creating wealth -- and that bigotry no longer has a place in our society nor should it ever be used for political gains. And we are free to openly admit that it was George W. Bush's incredibly poor judgment that has created the mess in Iraq that we now find ourselves in -- a mess that we were not in before HE took us there! Yeah, I feel sorry for you who still support George Bush. You have to live in denial and pretend that everything is still OK!

President wants Senate to hurry with new anti-terrorism laws July 30, 1996Web posted at: 8:40 p.m. EDT
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Clinton urged Congress Tuesday to act swiftly in developing anti-terrorism legislation before its August recess. (1.6 MB AIFF or WAV sound)
"We need to keep this country together right now. We need to focus on this terrorism issue," Clinton said during a White House news conference.
But while the president pushed for quick legislation, Republican lawmakers hardened their stance against some of the proposed anti-terrorism measures.
Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott, R-Mississippi, doubted that the Senate would rush to action before they recess this weekend. The Senate needs to study all the options, he said, and trying to get it done in the next three days would be tough.
One key GOP senator was more critical, calling a proposed study of chemical markers in explosives "a phony issue."
Taggants value disputed
Clinton said he knew there was Republican opposition to his proposal on explosive taggants, but it should not be allowed to block the provisions on which both parties agree.
"What I urge them to do is to be explicit about their disagreement, but don't let it overcome the areas of agreement," he said.
The president emphasized coming to terms on specific areas of disagreement would help move the legislation along. The president stressed it's important to get the legislation out before the weekend's recess, especially following the bombing of Centennial Olympic Park and the crash of TWA Flight 800.
"The most important thing right now is that they get the best, strongest bill they can out -- that they give us as much help as they can," he said.
Hatch blasts 'phony' issues
Republican leaders earlier met with White House Chief of Staff Leon Panetta for about an hour in response to the president's call for "the very best ideas" for fighting terrorism.
Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, emerged from the meeting and said, "These are very controversial provisions that the White House wants. Some they're not going to get."
Hatch called Clinton's proposed study of taggants -- chemical markers in explosives that could help track terrorists -- "a phony issue."
"If they want to, they can study the thing" already, Hatch asserted. He also said he had some problems with the president's proposals to expand wiretapping.
Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-South Dakota, said it is a mistake if Congress leaves town without addressing anti-terrorism legislation. Daschle is expected to hold a special meeting on the matter Wednesday with Congressional leaders.
